With a start Koneko woke, his eyes wide as his heart raced frantically even as his ears laid back against his head his body tensed as his eyes flicked about him even as he was ready to leap to his feet and flee or fight, but after several minutes of silence except for his rapid breathing which after a time settled down as his breathing did the same thing. Breathing softly Koneko lifted his head and looked about him as the moon light caused the water away's from him to glow in the light even as the cool night air ruffled his feathers.

His breathing hitched as the movement of lifting his head caused his wings to move and pain ripped through him as a low keen slipped from him as he struggled not to move again let alone move his wings. But it wasn't just his wings that hurt, but his whole body from the wounds on his neck, back, sides and hindquarters. The smell of blood still permitted the air though it was dry until he moved causing the claw and teeth wounds on his neck to reopen upon lifting his neck.

"Crap..." he muttered as he laid his head back down and closed his eyes, sighing softly as spasms rippled through him, hissing as both wings fluttered slightly before laying still.
