Lichen had been still sleeping on the top of a tree this morning. In fact, he was laid down on one of the trees until he heard some ruckus. From the sudden wakening up he had a small head ache. He scratched his head which felt weird. He shoved his hair a bit around, sighing a bit. âSo it really happenedâŠâ He sighed softly, sitting up against the tree as he looked at the sky. It was so⊠blue and innocent, it made him smirk a bit. âI had to admit⊠he ate my queen.â He told to himself. Lichen sighed, jumping off of the tree as he caught his spear that was sticking out of the tree as landed down on the ground.
The spear had an intricate design. The whole made around 6â, which was only a few inches above his head. Despite that, the construction made it light weight for the used, as the blade isnât that big. It was a double-edged blade which span in three direction. One was in the direction of the blade and the other made a moon-like shape going towards the handle. The blade had a swirl-ish pattern on it, making look like if there was several layers of steel forged together. The handle seemed to be just a stick of wood with some red textile over it to make a better grip of it. The end of it would be a forged spike. It had also two rings on each side, which helped to balance the weapon.
As Lichen heard more of the ruckus, he quickly travelled towards the source of the screaming, only to be found in front of a group of soldiers. It almost made his laugh to the point of snickering. A group of the soldiers turned towards him, pointing their weapon towards him. More specifically, the captain, one of the swordsman and two of the archers. He didnât dare to move.
âWhat do we do with this one?â the swordsman said.
âHe doesnât appear to be a HellbornâŠâ one of the archer said.
âHe probably heard about what this foolish said,â the other archer said.
âKill him. He much not spread the lie that came out of this foulâs mouth,â the captain said, but he appeared uncertain. As they readied their weapon, Lichen chuckled a bit.
âWouldnât be sad if Forneus heard that the ones he protects turns against his servants?â Lichen asked with a smirk. They immediately let their guard down, unless for the one occupied with the Hellborn.
âWe are terribly sorry. With what this one said, we were a bit under the shock.â The captain said, ordering for the body to be transported back to the castle.
âOh. Iâm sure youâll be more in a moment.â Lichen said as an arrow travelled through one of the archersâ head. With that, they immediately took back their weapons, looking around silently.
When another arrow travelled in another archerâs head, the captain shouted: âGet out of your hiding, coward!â Just before his head rolled down to the ground. In fact, Lichen had profited for the moment to sneak up behind him, therefore in the perfect place to kill him. The other quickly turned to him as the archers shot their arrows at him. He quickly dashed over, dodging the arrows. Although, one traveled into his right foot. He let out a small scream, which spawned a smirk on the soldiersâ face.
One of the swordsman walked up to him, his blade to the neck of Lichen, shouting: âIf you donât get out of your hiding spot, Iâm going to kill him!â
Lichen then smirked, a small energy orb appeared in his hand. âI do not want to kill you⊠but it canât be helped.â As the swordsman looked back at him, he was quickly punctured in the stomach with the orb. The orb quickly floated around to do the same with the remaining soldiers, and slowly disappeared near the bleeding Hellborn. Lichen slowly stood up and pulled out the arrow from his foot, making another small scream of pain. He took one of the death soldierâs fabric to make a small bandage around his foot so it stop bleeding, and quickly reached over the Hellborn to do the same.
âWe shall met againâŠâ He said softly, using the spear to support himself as he leaped a bit more away from the scene, but finally gave up as he collapsed on the ground. He couldnât feel his body responding to the movement he wanted to make, and so he stayed on the ground, breathing a bit heavily.
âGuess I really needed that queenâŠâ he whispered to himself.
