Penelope's morning habits vary greatly from day to day, based upon whether she has somewhere to go [and wants to or not], something to do, people to see, etc. On this particular day, it would have made perfect sense for the American girl to sleep in, then, for she doesn't really have much planned at all. In fact, her daily activity has decreased greatly since arriving here- just as a string of crimes that just so happened to follow her travels faded away once she had come to Safe Haven, brought by curiosity and the desire to meet other people who, like her, were different. Not having an item to steal, sell, or bargain about, her day shouldn't really need to begin very early at all. However, very early in the morning, perhaps a bit after six, the girl was woken up by the sound of footsteps, followed by the rushing noise of a shower turned on. This is the reason she opted to have a room near the backdoor, of course. Penelope dislikes being asleep while everyone else is awake, simply on principle.
Thus, Penelope rises from her bed and walks over towards her dresser. She pulls a brush out of the top drawer and brushes out the braid she had slept in. Penelope despises bed head, and thus braids her hair every evening as a simple solution. The process is brief, but times itself in such a way so that the girl seems to step into the shower just after Atheya has exited the other bathroom. The noise from the water prevents her from hearing the other young woman leave, but she isn't exactly focusing on trying to pinpoint Atheya's location, after all. Unlike Atheya, Penelope's shower is long, and scalding hot. Accustomed to having to be on the move a lot, she has no problem whatsoever with indulging in little things such as this. In fact, morning showers are perhaps her favorite parts of the day, unless something more thrilling happens, or she meets someone particularly interesting or attractive.
When the woman does get out of the shower, she wraps herself in a towel and returns to her room. Dressing is a fairly quick affair, perhaps because Penelope, a light traveler, has less clothing than one might expect at first glance. What she wears is of little importance, anyway, unless they are a means to some end, which in this case they are not. She lingers in her room for a bit, checking that she has loosened her bow, that nothing has gone missing, etc. The sound of a shutting door draws her attention away from these things, merely solutions against boredom. Penelope willingly leaves her room then, and follows the smell of food to the kitchen, where Atheya is asleep at the table. Penelope's mouth quirks into an uneven smile, but she decides to leave the girl be.
Instead, she quietly begins boiling water in a kettle for morning tea. While it heats, she picks through the contents of the to-go bag, eventually settling on a simple croissant and moving on. The tea kettle whistles just as she has placed the croissant on a napkin, tugging Penelope over to it. Within a few minutes, she is drinking piping hot tea, while the kettle continues to be warmed on the stove in case anyone else would fancy a cup.
