Eira had woken up just minutes before her phone had sounded her daily alarm, she slipped her hand under her pillow and retrieved her phone. She let out a sigh and made sure it wouldn't go off continuously. For a moment, Eira couldn't motivate herself to get up out of bed.
Just get up already...You'll be late...
She told herself before sitting up and staying in that position for a minute or so. Rays of light streamed into her room through the gap in her pastel curtains, she supposed that it was a good sign.

After dragging herself out of bed, Eira got dressed immediately, not bothering with a shower or breakfast. There was no motivation within her to make herself do any of those things that were usually part of her daily routine. She took a look at herself in the mirror and sighed as she made sure her hair was at least presentable. Exiting her room, Eira was pretty sure that there was nobody left in the house. Her dad had certainly gone to work early, Eira was aware that he was often up and out almost everyday. Her brothers were nowhere to be seen, which definitely meant that they were not in the house. She knew that this meant it was her turn to lock the door.

Grabbing her bag, Eira opened the front door after ensuring that all of the switches in the house were off and left the building. She locked the door, although the handle was a bit stiff. It was always a problem and she'd been mentioning it to her father very subtly. After tucking her keys in her coat pocket and zipping it up, Eira was ready to make the journey to school. She wasn't extremely overjoyed about having to go to school, but nor was she extremely displeased with going. The atmosphere was nice and she liked being in an environment where everyone was nice. She knew that she would certainly dread school if every student there was horrible.

Eira continued walking along the path, avoiding eye contact with people when they walked by. There was always something really awkward about making eye contact with a stranger and then smiling at them while they walked their dog or something. She carried on walking, engulfed in her thoughts about what the day would be like. Of course, she couldn't really predict how the day would turn out, but she hoped that it would be a particularly good one.

When she started getting closer to the school, Eira picked up her pace in order to get inside quicker. She walked through the front doors and made her way to the classroom. It had been labelled as a normal class. But Eira was never really sure what that meant, of course there were special classes, but she could never quite get her head around what they meant. She walked through the door to the classroom, didn't communicate with anyone in there and sat down at her desk, getting the supplies she needed out of her bag and started to look outside the window.
