"Is that so? Well I'm sorry to hear that, it would have gone so much easier for you!" he growled at the girl, continuing to swing his axe in smooth, fluid arcs into the tree. He could hear the tree fibers slowly groan with strain as more and more weight was placed upon them. The tree had very nearly had it.
His axe stopped a mere inch from the exposed wood as she finally spoke up. "You're not the brightest of people are you? If I were going to kill you, I wouldn't have bothered talking to you, or asking you to come with me!" He resumed his chopping of the tree, his ears picking up the rustling of in the leaves above him. She was moving, but he couldn't tell how.
Feeling satisfied that the tree was now weak enough, he gave the trunk a solid kick and listened as it slowly crashed to the ground. Feeling rather calm now, his axe vanished and he walked up to where she had been hiding in the tree. While her scent was present in the tree, there was no sound. He crouched and felt around, finding a silky piece of cloth that smelled of the girl. He inhaled her scent, fixing it more firmly in his senses, and smelled her in the tree just next to the fallen one. "If you think that you can hide simply because I am blind, you're dead wrong!" he yelled as his axe appeared again, then doubled, and tippled in size. He roared and swung, the blade slicing cleanly through the trunks of every tree in a good 25 foot radius.
