After getting a bite to eat, Sam grabbed her music, turned it full volume, and went out for a jog around the neighborhood. She was ready to give up. So far, the school wasn't at all like the close-knit and kind comforting school her childhood friend, Adrian, talked about. In fact, she had made more enemies than friends and most everyone cast her aside. She didn't know what her goals were, what she was good at, and she found it tiresome and pointless to drag herself to school everyday. There was a little bit of woods behind the community center and she entered the trail, kicking dirt up beneath her feet.
