Tanner kicked the quilt off his legs, letting the comparatively cool air wake him up. He gracelessly rolled out of the bed and glared at the alarm clock. It was a Saturday, so it hadn't rang out that morning, but to Tanner, the evil device was worthy of a glare every morning. Adrianna had invited them all to breakfast that morning and Tanner wasn't about to pass up the invitation. He wasn't even sure Ade would accept 'no' as an answer regardless of whether Tanner had prior arrangements or not.
Tanner padded through the apartment to the kitchen, flicking the power on the coffee machine. He might have been going to Adrianna's for breakfast, but he needed coffee to pull himself together. As he drank his coffee, Tanner thought about what was happening. Not for the first time, Tanner reflected on how different life in New York was compared to the reservation. If it wasn't for his psychometry, he probably would have embraced New York much quicker than he had, but he was learning to live with his gift and was adapting to the city. Tanner flicked the news channel on, letting the chatter of the news readers fill the apartment. Nothing much was happening in the world, not that Tanner minded. He was just glad the apartment wasn't deadly silent. He then realised that Ade had invited everyone to breakfast. Tanner smiled into the remnants of his coffee. That could be interesting. Tanner drained the last of his coffee and headed to the bathroom and grabbed a quick shower.
Tanner threw his clothes on, making sure he looked presentable. He didn't want to turn up to breakfast with everyone looking scruffy. He grabbed a beanie hat before deciding against the hat and leaving it on the side. Tanner turned back into the apartment and switched the TV off. Making sure everything was as it should be, Tanner locked the door to his apartment and headed upstairs to Ade's apartment. He gently rapped on the door to her apartment, each knock giving him a brief snapshot of who had already arrived. So far, just Ricky and Annabeth had arrived. Tanner could live with that and it meant that he wasn't responsible for waking Ade up. He stood back from the door, jamming his hands into his pockets, waiting for someone to come and open the door.
