Blue slipped into the restaurant's back door that went through the kitchen, walking through the bustling, hot room quickly. "Blue!" Blue smirked and instinctively put her hands out to catch the little square box that flew her way.
"Thanks J.J!" She called back, slipping into the dining area of the restaurant. J.J was one of the boys who worked in the kitchen, and also one of the only boys in town who talked to her without expecting to sleep with her. Because of this, J.J knew she had a huge sweet tooth, and when he set up the desert display every morning, he stole her a cupcake and put it in a purple box for her when she came in to work.
Blue made her way to the bar area and sat down at the end, out of everyone's way. She grabbed a napkin and pulled the cupcake out, setting it on top of it before pulling out a book and propping her elbow up on the bar, resting her head in her hand with her face turned down towards the book so that her long golden blond hair created a thin, but effective, veil between her and the rest of the restaurant.
Blue didn't bother to look up when someone sat next to her. She was too into the book. As far as she was concerned, nothing but her, the book, and the cupcake existed. “You're Blue right?” The man who'd say next to her asked, pulling her into reality, and Blue lifted her head, turning it towards him. “DJ’s friend, she talks about you a lot you know. Says she misses you.”
Blue raised her eyebrows. She'd seen the guy a lot, he worked for Mr. Jennings, but she didn't know his name or anything else about him. Mostly because she didn't like gossip, whereas the rest of the town seemed to feed off it. Rumors were spread about her, not through her. “You didn’t hear that from me though.” He smirked, and she watched him down his drink. “See you around kid.” He said and started to walk away.
"I'm not a kid." She called simply after him. "And you probably shouldn't lie to strangers. Especially about things you don't know shit about." She smirked. "Queen Bee gets along just fine without me."
Trevor was amused with her light flirting and the way she talked about her dog, making it obvious the two were very attached and she liked animals, or at least dogs, a lot. From the way she stood, leaning lightly on a fence post, and the way she spoke, he could tell she didn't have anywhere to go and didn't mind talking to him and he was glad. Because she was probably the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, right down to her laugh and the sound of get voice. He knew he'd be kicking himself later if he just let her walk away.
Trevor watched her tilt her head a little in response to his question. "Actually, it's not that bad. And it just got quite a bit better." She grinned and he laughed. "It's kind of similar to the town I'm from, what with the nosy neighbors but here they'll just talk about whatever you did. Where i'm from, they will publically shun you for it. Nobody friends, not really. Here it's a bit... kinder. Not so much pressure." She smiled and Trevor nodded, she'd probably come from some sort of rich community where the pressure to be perfect was suffocating. "I don't believe you introduced yourself." She pointed out, grinning, and Trevor decided he quite liked her smile.
"No I don't think I did." He smiled back at her. "But neither did you." He teased a little before shrugging casually. "I'm Trevor Wilson. My old man owns the car shop down the road." He smiled and gestured in the direction of the shop. "What about you though beautiful? You got yourself a name?" He smiled, holding her eyes.
