Emilia looked over at her cousin, "You know what I think Chris? You are too afraid to make new friends, but you need friends around, otherwise you will become lonely. Then you will become an old man with dreads that has no friends, so with that said, I'm going to help my big cuz out. You and I are going to march up those stairs once we finish eating, change into our clothes and then take Aunt Angela's cooking next door. This will be the biggest favor I've ever asked from you and I'm doing it to help you out too. Plus, it'll be fun." She twirled in a circle and smiled up at her cousin. He usually never said no when she asked something and she knew that was because he was afraid of hurting her, seeing as she was slowly dying.
It hurt Emilia knowing that he'd rather not be around others and spend time alone, or around her. She wants him to find others to hang around with once she is no longer alive. The last thing she would ever want is for him to be sad and lonely; the two together is not a good mix. "Oh, and once that mission is completed, I allow the both of us to go surfing."

She began thinking about the girls next door and how it could mean she might finally make a few decent friends. Maybe she would have the chance to do girly things for once, like have a 'sleepover'. The last sleepover she had was when she was 6, before being diagnosed with Leukemia, but that memory has already started fading away. The closest thing she has had to a sleepover since then would be spending time in the hospital and sharing the room with a girl next to her. Unfortunately, that girl didn't make it through chemotherapy and had passed away.

Death was another thing Emilia tried to forget, but was always there in the back of her mind. The grim reaper was ticking away her precious time and she understood that. Although she is overly positive about the situation she is in, only a crazy person wouldn't think about death if they were in her position.
'Is there a heaven? Is there somewhere to go? Do people still exist after death?' Emilia is filled with questions, that will never be answered.

"So," she shouted out, shaking her head from the thoughts that were swimming through her mind, "What have you decided to do loser?"
