Jessamine smiled at his words. Perhaps she could get him to come to the city someday. When she waited for her answer, she felt somewhat selfconsious all of a sudden as he turned to face her. Jessamine, who never felt selfconsious couldn't help but wonder what was happening? Was it all just becasue she thought he looked like Lucas? It wasn't that she thought it, it was entirely true as he could possibly be a twin though she wasn't certain. Lucas had been away and might have grown up to look different, but it was still strange. "Please, no more apologizing. I am more than happy to answer your questions. I am not the kind of being that would simply stand around chatting with someone if I did not wish to. As a Archangel I have the luxury of being able to ignore those I choose. I must admit, there are not many that I find interesting. I would like to ask you a question, if I may?" Elijah said and Jessamine smiled slightly. She was having a grand time at this point.

"I suppose it is fair," Jessamine says as she looks down slightly before looking back up, suddeny unsure where to look as her eye caught his wings in sight. She looked back to his eyes, remembering why she was there and wondering if it was okay to be doing what she was doing. Elijah was so patient it seemed, as if he could talk with a child all day. His gaze wasn't really concealed as he eyed her which wasn't something she was unused to though it seemed somewhat different coming from an angel, or archangel as Elijah put it.

"I was wondering why you are speaking with me. Most of your kind hates mine and try not to get near us unless they have to. And yet, here you are..standing with me and carrying a conversation. Like I said a moment ago..quite interesting in my opinion." Elijah asks making Jessamine raising her eyebrows. She had not expected that though she probably should have. She smiled that time, as she looked out at the party for a brief moment, mulling over the answer, then looked back up at Elijah. "Well, like I said, one of my closest friends was an angel. I do hate your kind, though I wouldn't have put it that way, but only those who kill, those who play with humans as if they are toys, and those who treat humans as things lesser than the dirt they walk on. Angels and archangels have made my life difficult yes, but still, I can't bring myself to hate all of them as humans can be the same way, though we don't see them as much," Jessamine says as she accepts a glass of champagne. She wondered how much more she could drink before she started to feel the effects though she felt fine still.

"Why I am talking with you is a different matter though. It is something new to me as well as usually I avoid angels as we have entirely different personalities and likes. You on the other hand, I'll be blunt, you're different it seems. I don't take you as the one to murder humans in cold blood and you've put up with me well enough... You're what I would like most angels to be like, open to new things as it appears you are, like me," Jessamine says as she takes a small sip of the glass. She had thanked the waiter, made sure to make eye contact to relay the message of thanks for his service though she was sure not many other people there would do that.

"I am most glad that our paths have crossed. It has been a very long time since I've found my attention held in such a way. Tell me, truly, what you think of is happening between our kinds." Jessamine considered his words as she fingered the stem of the glass, watching the bubbly liquid. "Well, to start, I think that something big is coming in the future. I don't know what it could possibly be, but different groups are forming on both sides and I think things are getting more dangerous everywhere. I lock my doors at night where I live for fear of someone coming whether it be angel or human, because in this new world, nobody seems safe as they are all in danger from each other. The different kinds of people in the world are changing Elijah, it may result in a better world at the end, but after all that's happened so far, nothing is for sure anymore," Jessamine says as she sadly looks down into the glass, holding the clutch wallet to her thigh as she didn't really want to hold it much more and was greatly considering dumping it somewhere considering it wasn't necessarily hers.

She shrugged her shoulders as she took a deep, slightly shaky breath. "I hope one day that we can live without prisoners, killing, and secrets, but I'm just not quite sure. That's the most honest I've been in a while and it is rather strange. Now, I've told you of my thoughts, care to share yours with me? And please, call me Jess, nobody really knows me by Jessamine as I think it's too long," Jessamine says as she stares disinterested at the champagne glass for only a moment longer, then looks up to meet Elijah's gaze. She allowed herself a moment to study him, taking in the height, the hair, his wings, eyes, and the way he carries himself as she watched for something, she wasn't sure what, but something of some sort.

Why was she talking to him? She was gathering intell. That's what she would say when asked the next day, but she wouldn't say much more than she had to and she wouldn't say less than she had to. She would say what she needed to say and what they needed to know and that was that. They didn't need to know more and she didn't need to say more like she usually believed and carried out.
