I ran. I ran and ran and ran, placing my steps carefully as I did. My ears picked up on the faint screams and yells but I continued running and pray that Atlas would be alright. After hours of running, my body felt weak from exhaustion I could sense that morning would arrive soon. My feet dragged in the sand and soon I fell down onto my knees. My body wanted rest, my mind told me to keep going but my heart worried for my friend. I shook my head. "Don't look back." I told myself as I stood up and walked onward.

I walked on and soon the morning heat got to me. I feel on my hands and knees. How big and vast was this desert? How much longer am I to go until I reach the end? I crawled onwards and finally my strength gave out on me. My body fell into the sand and my eyes were only half closed. "Is this my punishment for my sins? Why? I haven't even been given a chance to..." Before I could finish, my eyes closed and I let exhaustion take over my consciousness.
