Adonael watched Shaylee as she spoke to him; her voice seemed full of happiness to him, as if he were the one setting off the dominoes that would bring the world to peace. She had a feather from his wing in her hand, and when she was through speaking, she returned it to his wing, reattaching it permanently he presumed. "Thank you...." he said softly. He realized how exhausted he was. When he'd seen the demon, new energy had filled him, but before that he'd been flying through the night, for hours upon hours. His eyes grew weary as his body relaxed, the comfort of Shaylee's words calming his mind as well as his body.
Without realizing it, his eyes closed and his body fell limp from exhaustion. He fell from the tree, hitting the ground somewhat hard, though he did not wake up.
