Jon kicked up his feet as he sat down. With a quick flick of his wrist, he stuck a cigarette in his mouth and lit it. The plane reached the peak of its take-off height when he exhaled. The pillowed man, still unconscious, jostled around in the back of the plane. Jon pulled some gauze out of the medicine kit, and wrapped it around his arm. He watched Riley as he snipped it from the remaining batch, and clipped it securely.
"So, how have you been, Riles? I haven't seen you in a while," he asked in a tone contrary to the stressful situation. He inhaled again on his cigarette.
"I haven't really been following your modeling career much lately, I'll be honest. Get a lot of jobs?" his voice sounded calm, almost like he was talking to her over coffee.
"I'd imagine that your fella has a hard time keeping up with you," he laughed.
The man in the back stirred a little. His unconsciousness turned into a light sleep. Carlos closed the cockpit, apparently in order to focus his attention on what he was doing.
