Ryley left her then and headed off towards his dorm. He didn't even look back at Hanna. He couldn't. He was walking through the long hall slowly. He noted that there were not many people left wandering about. No doubt they'd already gotten to their dorms and were unpacking or spending time with their friends. Ryley was quickly brought out of thought as a hand closed about his wrist. He stopped moving and turned to see who had stopped him. Hanna If course it was Hanna. He could easily see that she was not happy with him. "Look here, Ryley, I understand that you are upset or whatever but I lost someone to. A friend, a dear friend, okay? So no need for that little attitude of yours."
She gave him no time to reply, turning and flipping her hair against him. He did not go after her, simply watching as she left him. He was glad that he was alone. Her words bothered him though he was quick to push them out of his mind. He turned and then continued down the hallway. He was glad that his assigned room was fairly close to the front of the building. He opened the door and then entered, finding his roommate. It was the same man he'd roomed with the year before and the two were fairly close.
Ryley greeted the man and it was easy to see that he was surprised at Ryley's new appearance. He made his way over to his bed and then began unpacking. Taylor was trying to ask him how he was doing but Ryley was quick to make sure that his friend knew that he didn't want to talk about it. The other man left, then, leaving Ryley alone. He was already beginning to regret returning to school.
Now that he was alone, Ryley allowed himself to fully feel the pain and sadness he'd been trying to keep buried. He gently sat down on the bed, placing his face in his hands. He remained that way even as his phone went off, signaling a message. Slowly, he lifted his head and then pulled his phone out of his pocket. He quickly opened the message and then sighed at seeing it was from Hanna. He hesitated, trying to decide if he should even bother in writing her back.
After a few moments, he broke down. He couldn't ignore her completely. He typed up a reply, telling her that it was okay..he understood her reaction. And that he was sorry. He didn't think that she would understand but he wanted her too so badly. He was quick to add that if she needed him(for anything), all she needed to do was let him know. Of course, he was still planning on staying away from her unless he had to be near her.
