Quinn snorted when Kye mentioned Keo was coming. "He wouldn't do much, Kye. Besides, we can take care of ourselves, don't you think?" While it was true that Quinn had the more offensive gift, Kye could still be useful in certain situations. He still didn't really know what he could do, exactly. At any rate, Quinn felt more safe with Kye than with any of his cousins. Neither of them had realized that Kye was inching closer and closer to her this entire time. He was lightly touching her when Kye backed away from her. He was standing in a way that Quinn actually had to look down at him. Quinn was oblivious to Kye's passion for her that was displayed in his eyes. She heard him whisper in Maori, "Au manaΚ»o aloha pumehana." She also heard him laugh. All she had gotten out of what he said was warmth. Maybe he was commenting on how warm the air was...? Or that her fire bothered him? She would have to ask someone later.
He broke the moment by asking her if she wanted to go back to the party. "That's up to you, Kye. You mostly just work up there, and you know I'm going to have to find my brother at some point tonight. So..." Quinn still hadn't heard the person approaching them speak or walk away. Were they still here? Quinn was visibly on edge as she attempted to look into the darkness for the unwelcome guest. "I would just be careful on the way back up. I don't want you getting hurt." After giving him a friendly hug, Quinn slowly started to walk back up the beach. This feeling wasn't good...
