Any other Alpha would be annoyed with the way Dani presented herself. Lykos found it incredibly endearing. Him being the Alpha and her being the Beta, her spot was near him, not next to him. But their whole pack had never really been one for tradition, and Lykos liked that his lovely little sidekick was comfortable around him. It meant he was doing his job right, in his opinion. Many would argue that he was letting his wolves get away with much more than they should, but he didn't see any harm in letting them have some fun every once in awhile, and he certainly didn't feel the need to scold them because they didn't follow the standing order to a tee. As long as none of them decided to get it in their heads to run out and attack the vampire coven on their own, or run through the town as a huge wolf, he figured everything was good. Actually, he didn't want them attacking the vampires at all, but they were natural enemies... He couldn't blame anyone for being a little antsy when the creatures of the night were around. It even made his wolf want to jump out and take control, but like he expected the rest of his pack to do, he kept the animal in check.
"You're fine." Lykos said, eyes flicking towards his Beta. "I love the fuzzy slippers, you have to tell me where you got those." He teased, fixing her with his signature grin that could charm the pants off of just about anyone. He didn't care if the vampires could hear him, calming his pack was more important than making the vampires think he was some kind of stoic tyrant that wouldn't deal with shit.
The vampires approached and he felt his pack tensing. Most of them were either crowded in the doorway of the house or on the porch behind him, and he still stood leaning against the post. He wanted to seem relaxed, unworried, not ready to jump into battle. The pack behind him wasn't helping that much though. When he had said for them to get up, he hadn't meant for all of them to storm downstairs. It didn't bother him too much though, he didn't blame them for being curious. Not to mention wolves were pretty territorial, this was their land, and no vampire was going to try to take it from them. "We're fine, mostly. Though today was supposed to be sleep-in day, so you can imagine some of them are a little grouchy." That got a few uncomfortable chuckles from his pack as they waited to see what the vampire had to say. As it turned out though, the vampires wanted something... very different. He listened to Larisa, all the while communicating telepathically to his pack. "Do we trust them?" Even in the sea of hell no's that followed, Lykos nodded in the vampires direction. "Dani, stay with me. The rest of you go watch perimeter. This could still be a distraction." He moved to make room for his pack to shuffle out the door, and he spoke directly to Dani next. "Run upstairs and get ready, yeah? I love the slippers but they're maybe not the best fighting shoes." If it came to that, and he hoped it wouldn't.
"Come on then vamps, let's talk." He motioned them into the house before him, and when he stepped inside he was relieved to see that Dani had made it upstairs already. Hopefully it wouldn't take her long to get back down. There was a huge living room to the left that he led them into, it had two long couches facing each other with a coffee table in the middle, and a large TV on the wall at the end. He sat on one couch and waited for them to mimic him on the other before he spoke. "So Larisa, what's so terrible that you had to come to the big, bad wolves for help?"
