One of the women appeared frightened by Erick. In fact, she was frightened so much that she jumped when her cell phone rang. He smiled to ease the tension his appearance usually seemed to bring. Erick was surprised to see the man approach him in a hostile manner. Surprised, but interested. The man seemed to be implying that Erick was out of place. If only he knew that Erick was right where he belonged.

"Well, gee you don't have to worry about me," he said, smiling warmly. "You're right, though. I'm not a local. I just wander around looking for additions to a collection I have going. I made enough money to retire a long time ago, you see. I was walking by and this little beauty through the window caught my eye. This little necklace here looks just like what I've been looking for." Eric dangled the necklace in front of his gaze. Soon, he wouldn't have to deal with his affliction any more. All the wasted time and pointless damage would be over. It would be interesting to meet the others, though. He was sure there were things they could learn from each other. "Oh, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Name's Erick," he said while extending a hand.
