"Can you write? I can read though I'm not very good at it." He said and she smiled, a thin barely visible one, and nodded. She can write! Why had she not thought of that before.
She took the charcoal and the paper and sat down cross legged.
"I'm sure Damien would be here to talk to you if he wasn't so...so confused right now. He's just, he's not used to people like you, people that made him think or feel differently. You probably don't see him that way, just because he is a "crazy" pirate, but, then again, you were just as crazy as we were to come here with nobody but Jarrak who seems bound to have himsef killed before the day's over with his obvious disgust and...and I'm ranting to you like I rant to Damin...Sorry." He said with a small chuckle. Kalila looked down at her paper and began to scribble.
I'm not crazy, She wrote and showed it to him. She placed the paper down again and wrote some more.
I don't see your brother as just a pirate, I like him, he is nice. She wrote but the charcoal was too blunt for her shaky hand writing, she had a vast knowledge of language, ironically, she could understand different dialects, she just couldn't speak them. She could write in the venacular but it wasn't as easy as the Jeddian characters.

She said and held up the paper to him. Her fingers covered in coal dust now.
