"Of course I know that as long as Slasher is hovering around that he's no better than some bony vulture waiting to pick the flesh off of our bones!" She scrunched her hands up by her ears, her temper fanning fast. "That's why I'm so upset—you two dragged him on our doorstep like two feral cats."
She folded her arms across her chest, not budging as her large brown eyes ambered back at him, unwavering and unblinking. "And, if you've not noticed, I don't deal in combat. I deal in airwaves. What makes you think I can allocate resources to you, much less ask Sherman to cooperate? And do this behind Bonita's back? As it is, I can't in good conscience allow listeners in need think it's a good idea to come to Aegis." She shook her head and sighed. "And didn't you and Bonita have breakfast this morning? Why didn't you ask her then?"
