After her harshness regarding the thief, that was when Devone's 'truer self' if one could call it that became active again. "But of course. Thieves are the worst kind of bottom feeder. I'm glad that we see eye to eye on that." So, the girl agrees and plays along. Devone was a little suspicious. Not because of anything Arietta did in particular, just because she didn't expect someone to be as open as she was about things like that. Unless of course, the girl was equally as egotistical and stable in her ventures. Then again, there was always a chance the blonde was just agreeing to get along and gain something out of it rather than actual, proper, valid agreement to what Devone was saying. Maybe she was just going to agree to anything Devone said? She personally hoped that wasn't the case. It wouldn't be interesting...
"Devone Kim I presume? Daniel Trist, a pleasure to make your acquaintance.â Devone turned her attention away from Arietta for a moment to see who had addressed her. It was another blonde, but a male one. Definitely a mixed breed but she could never be sure what corner of the earth he came from. It wasn't that obvious. It felt like his accent was a bit of everything. As surprised as she was to be approached by someone the second time tonight, she didn't show it and proceeded with the formalities. Accepting his outstretched hand, she shook it. "Charmed." She replied with a well rehearsed polite smile for just the occasion. She didn't recognize him personally but the surname 'Trist' rung a bell and he was dressed and well-mannered for the part of her high class world. She had a feeling he may be positioned even higher in power than that. A good thing as fate would have it that Atsushi had not returned for her yet. It definitely wasn't part of the plan for her to be mingling with people but it was something worth doing in general. Connections are always good, even the small ones. Some of them are clever enough to rise above you in time and when they do, they will still remember you. In essence, you stay on your toes and higher. It was even more surprising that her dad's lecturing words entered her mind. It was an extremely rare occurrence for her, especially now that she had lost most if not all respect for him.
"My, you're quite the celebrity." Her female acquaintance giggled to which Devone responded with a restricted feminine chuckle to feign modesty or shyness. "Ahah... just for tonight. I swear it isn't always like this for me."
She returned her attention back to Daniel and gestured over at her acquaintance across the table. "Daniel, please meet a friend of mine. This is Hakushiro, Arietta." She introduced before returning both her hands to their rightful position on her lap of crossed legs. It feels like a social party and I'm a bit rusty... my cheeks might ache after all these pleasantries. Despite her inner whining, they were kept under lock and key in the depths of her thoughts not to be seen on the outside. "Care to enlighten us Daniel, are you a visitor to Japan?" she queried, having to go back to initiating the small talk before anything else. Her eyes casually drifted behind him to notice familiar faces; Bishop undeniably and another girl (Keiko) she had recalled more from seeing her in the man-eating nightmare that haunted her in the bathroom but it didn't phase her. What phased her was... what are those two doing here? She managed to keep her confusion hidden under the cool, calm and collected guise.
