Upon having her plate piled with eggs [maybe a bit more than she had wanted, but a challenge the girl was more than happy to take on], Lyla took a seat to begin eating. When Jack asks if she wants to hang out at the beach in a few minutes, her mouth opens to respond in the obvious affirmative; the beach is perhaps one of her favorite places, especially this particular one. However, it immediately shuts and turns into a scowl when Jason responds in her place, informing Jack that she will not be going anywhere until the nannies arrive. Lyla gives him a death glare, and it is at least half due to the fact that her elder brother is speaking as though she isn't sitting right there. This is typical, of course --people have been talking about her and ignoring her presence for a while now, especially when those people are either or adults or people who think that they know best [her brother fitting into the latter category, of course]. "Oh, fuck off, Jason. I'm right here, you know," she finally breaks her nasty look to glance towards Jack, who is equally unimpressed by Jason's attempt to exert authority over her, from the look of it.
There is little doubt that she fully plans on going to the beach, most likely before the nannies arrive to give their approval over it. Jason's overreacting about this, as far as Lyla's concerned. If anything, going down to the beach should be considered rather tame --there's a long stretch which can be seen from the house, leaving her practically supervised. After Jack and Jason have a bit of a confrontation, ending in Jack leaving and the sudden screams from Alexandra, Lyla looks over at Ella, who is looking up at her expectantly. Normally, she wouldn't want to drive her little sister around. She only usually does it when she's already heading there anyway. However, she's still irritated with Jason, especially about the driving comment, and so of course the first thing that she wants to do is get behind the wheel of a car.
"Borrow something? I don't think it'll fit you, Ella. Better just go buy something --and yes, I will take you," she directs the last part at Ella, but her eyes lock on Jason for a moment, before she drops her empty [at some point she had managed to eat all of her eggs] plate in the sink and heads out the door. She doesn't look back to see if Ella will follow her. Besides, the young woman needs to run up and change first. But that only takes a moment --she can dress well and fast because most of what she owns will look good in nearly any combination. It's a good strategy for someone who tends to sleep in a lot.
