Taylor knew that Madison wasn't as enthusiastic about their summer plans, or really anything, as she was, so she was satisfied with the not so negative response that her friend gave her. "I'm sure it won't be bad at all," she began, turning as far as she could in her seat to look back at her friend. "The youngest one is already thirteen and by the time that I was that age, my mom would leave me home alone all of the time. I'm sure their parents just want us there to make sure they don't accidentally burn the house down, or something." It was true that Taylor's mother had trusted her to be responsible at a young age. Being an only child to a single mother meant that Taylor had to learn how to take care of herself in a lot of respects and she hoped that Ella Kennedy, although the youngest of four, would show some similar characteristics.

"Did you read the email I sent you? The two older brothers are twenty-two... not too young for some summer romance," she commented with a playful grin. Taylor wasn't seriously thinking about getting serious with any of the boys. For one, she hadn't even met them yet and secondly, she felt like even though they weren't her employers, it would still be a little bit inappropriate. However, she wasn't going to make that stop Madison for going for one of them. Madison was obviously not the caretaker-type but Taylor would rather have her there doing nothing, or being the bad cop when necessary, than to have to do it all alone.

The hour-long drive seemed to go quickly as Taylor and Madison caught up on what they had done over the past few weeks and what they expected the summer to entail. Before Taylor had too much time to worry about what could go wrong, the taxi cab stopped in front of a driveway blocked by a gated entrance. Taylor remembered that Mrs. Kennedy had specified that one of the children would need to buzz them in when they got to the gate. It was strange having such a fancy system just to get to the door, but Taylor figured that the extra security was necessary when you had such a nice home to guard. She had never used one before so it took her a second to figure out what to do, but after a moment she pushed down one of the buttons and spoke into the intercom, saying, "Hi... it's Taylor and Madison!", somewhat awkwardly.

The cab driver glanced around impatiently but Taylor couldn't even see the house from outside the gate, so there was no way that she was going to let him drop them off here and have them lug their bags all the way up the driveway. She decided that they would wait to be buzzed in and have him drive her up to the front of the house and she got back into the car as the gate slowly opened.

"So, here we go..." she said with a nervous smile as she turned back to Madison and the taxi began down the long driveway that led up to the house.
