"Right, sorry." Raiden apologized straight-forwardly with a slight bow of the head before picking up and clicking his pen, marking the appointment in a notepad. He personally liked to keep a record of his tutoring sessions including the free trials. He was organised when it came to both tutoring and school work. It was a habit of his and he wasn't quite sure where he picked it up from. "Hi, I'm Akira." Raiden's eyes lifted focus from the paper to the brunette's outstretched hand and introduction. It was a very western gesture compared to his bow of the head but he accepted her hand in his gently familiar enough with it. "Raiden. As you know, I'll be your tutor this session. Thanks for coming." He said politely enough as he released her hand from his grip. Despite his serious demeanor, he was shaken deep down at the thought of having to tutor a female on a more frequent basis. He was usually requested by other males as in his opinion, they were the target market for study help. He didn't have anything against Akira though. He was just extremely rusty dealing with females since his previous highschool where things went terribly wrong. Mai didn't count in his rustiness in communication with females as he had known her for quite a long time despite lack of contact and how they were after all, blood related.
He picked up the top textbook from his prepared pile and set it on the table between them, scan reading over it to check it was the right one before rotating it and sliding it more towards Akira for her to look over. "Do you know which of these topics you'll be covering this semester in advance? These are the usual in each school I assume..." He leaned back slightly, still composed. "Also, any chance you brought sample homework? Just so I have a better understanding of areas you need help with. Otherwise, just let me know and I'll do my best to assist you." It was only then that Raiden fully recalled his conversation on the phone with her and how she mentioned her attendance at Airdalen High. He debated with himself, unsure if he should mention his recent enrollment to her or if she'd even find it relevant. It did mean they could study together conveniently though if she asked for more sessions...
"You're an Airdalen student, correct? I hear their entrance exams are tough..." he said before scratching the back of his head and looking away, still debating if he should disclose his recent enrollment with her or not. There was a chance she was a junior or sophomore, and they wouldn't even bump into each other. It was a big school. It wouldn't be lying to not say anything either. To hell with it...
"I'm going to be studying there myself come Monday..." As soon as he said it, he regretted it. He had just met the brunette and sharing that he was going to be there as well made him feel like he was hitting on her somehow. "To clarify, by then I'll have a better idea of what you're studying or going to study if you're not a senior yet and I'll be able to help more." he tried to save himself. Raiden also noticed he was talking a lot but tried not to over think it. Talking was part of the job description of a tutor but it just plainly felt awkward for him in that moment.
