“Princess?” came a squeaky yet raspy voice. “There hasn’t been a princess on the planet in over ten years.”
“What happened? Did Bowser kidnap them all? Do I have to take care of him for ya?” Collin asked excited at the prospect of an adventure.
“Bowser? What do you know of Bowser? That vile piece of trash was such a push over. Mario defeated him countless times, but the last time… that was when everything changed. He was locked away in the dungeon with the koopalings and his son. That’s when she snapped.”
“Who snapped?”
“The empress.”
“Empress? You mean Princess Peach?”
“Empress Toadstool dropped that moniker shortly after Bowser’s defeat. She took possession of his fleet of air ships, she took command of the koopa troops and started invading every kingdom on this planet. She said that she wanted to prove that she was not some one to be fucked with. Sarasaland was the first kingdom she took, taking Princess Daisy into captivity. That was when Luigi turned against her and his own brother. He didn’t stand a chance and was killed trying to free Daisy. She went on to take over Dinosaur Land, Yoshi Island and the rest of the kingdoms in the Mushroom World. Finally she set her sites on Princess Rosalina’s space station. She surrendered willingly after seeing what she had done to the rest of the kingdoms. She built a new castle on the station and rules from there. And now she want‘s to take over all of Biterra. This universe is doomed.”
“How do you know about all this? Who are you?”
“I was her most trusted advisor.” He said as he pulled his hood down and revealed a mushroom shaped head “I’m Toad. I was informed of a prophecy that would foretell of Biterra’s doom. That’s how I knew you were coming. There are others that will join you and stand against her tyranny. However you must seek out the ‘Ultimate Power-Up’. Sadly no one here has ever seen it or even knows what it looks like. The Empress is trying to create it herself and has the two wisest people on the planet enslaved in her lab on the space station; Professor Elvin Gadd and Kamek, the magikoopa. Rumor is they’re trying to fuse a 1-up mushroom with an invincibility star, trying to create an immortality mushroom. She will not be easy to defeat, you must seek out others from the other realms of Biterra. They will be drawn here from all over the universe when they feel the shift in the balance of power. However, not everyone is trustworthy and the villains will be coming to offer to join forces with her. Not everyone you think is a hero is, and neither is everyone you think is a villain. This upcoming war will show everyone’s true colors. I must go now before she finds out what I’m doing.” He jumped and hit an invisible block and a warp pipe appeared from the ground. He jumped in and he and the pipe disappeared.
