It took only a minute for those strange creatures to disperse and leave Ian Alexander alone. Through the power of the Pact he just made, he was no longer a target to them. His lacrosse stick, which was raised defensively but a moment ago, now eased and lowered in his hand as a visible bead of sweat dropped down the red-haired boy's face. "Damn, that was a close one... I've never seen anything like that creature before. I think they were called Noise? I don't know, but they look like weird tribal tattos come to life. Kind of cool, but I'd prefer them as far away from me as possible." It was now that he turned around and actually looked over the girl that was to be his partner. She was pretty short compared to him, but she was definitely cute. The blue hair was different, probably dyed or something. They didn't have hair like that anywhere he'd ever been. She really didn't seem to be his type at first, but she had an undeniable cuteness to her. If he were stuck with her for the week, he decided that he would not mind it so much based on that alone.
With the earlier threat now gone, his shoulders dropped in relief and he let himself smile a bit. The stick in his hand now rested gingerly on his curled fingertips as he addressed his new partner. "Hey there. Sorry about forcing you into that pact just now... I panicked, y'know? And you didn't have a partner and I didn't have a partner. It kinda saved us just now. Sorry if you were lookin' for someone specific." Seven years in Japan did not really help his dialect, some words coming through a bit hesitantly and slowly as he tried to form the Japanese words in his head. He still thought in English and spoke it whenever he could, and his accent was clearly still not of the area. Amber-brown eyes locked onto hers as he continued speaking. "My name is Ian. Ian Alexander. I'll do my best to keep you safe this week. Consider it payment for making you stuck with me." His main reason for saying this was pretty simple though: she was a girl and a smaller one at that. In his mind, it registered that she needed to be protected. He would be damned if he didn't do just that. And while he had no idea what he might need to protect her from, he decided that he would be the one to do it.
His smile widened a little bit with his macho little speech. He only fought back his desire to flex a little bit just because he didn't want to seem too much like a showboat. "So, uh, do you have a name, Blue?" He extended his free hand for shaking when she gave her name. Unknown to him, however, was that his partner's entry fee would stop him from getting her name...
