The music blasts into the night and could be heard for miles. People enter with fake smiles and laughter, feeling a need to keep their status in the world just by showing up and entertaining the more 'important' people. It was all a political game, and most walked around with a figurative mask, hiding the truth away from the others.
Ironic that the casino itself was just a mask as well.
Rowan walked through the crowds, smiling and greeting them in passing. A wolf among sheep, he thought. Still, these were the people giving him business and enough means to continue his operations.
The casino itself was relatively new. It had only been in place for a few years, but it had become an overnight success. The area in Audrieu grew due to the casino's success. This made Rowan a very powerful man in terms of Lutetia.
Slowly, the man made his way to the stair cases that lead up to the Royal Suites, where he had texted for all his pack to meet.
