"Gracious of you, Yuna, my thanks," Aku said to the little elf who was a frustrating thing on her own. Inhumanly beautiful and far too 'kind' at times, it sickened him on some level that someone like her was running around in the world. A large part of him had wanted to see that hope get crush, that light in her eyes slowly wither and die before the harsh reality of the world, but then, that warmth was also a comfort at times, and perhaps, the world could use some light. It would be dull if it got so dark that a man could not see their hand in front of their face.
He gently picked up a strip of meat between two fingers, and brought it to the front of his mask and gave it a small sniff, before reaching up with his other hand and lifting the bottom of his mask just far enough to slip the meat up into his mouth. Yes, it had always amused him how others would constantly watch him as he ate for the first time, assuming he took off his mask to do so when it was a very simply matter to turn his head and lift the very bottom of it up.
The meat was rough and gamey, lacking any real seasonings, but that was hardly Yuna's fault. Although, the next location they stopped in, he was going to be sure to acquire some salt. Aku chewed quietly, letting his eyes roam each person in their morning actives, and trying to ignore the very annoying sounds of fist hitting bark. Why the boy had decided on ruining the peaceful silence with his nonsensical desire for physical violence would never be something he could understand.
His emerald eyes snapped to his 'beloved' princess as she called for two of them to join her. The brute and the blind man, well, that was fine, it saved him the effort of having to worry about her doing something incredibly foolish when she was not in his sight. She felt more like a troublesome pet that he had to constantly apologize for more then a 'great warrior'. But there was some difference, even a troublesome pet could be forced to obey, but the Princess wasn't someone he could bend quiet so easily. Was she worth the effort?
"So the Princess enters the dark woods with two men all on her lonesome, my, oh my," Aku said to no one in particularly bringing his cup of tea to his mouth and taking a small sip, the heat stinging his tongue, "I can only imagine the sheer horror of a little Princess running around."
