She entwined her fingers between his to tighten the grip he had on her hand. They walked quietly towards her room but it wasn’t the awkward type of silence. She was very happy in that moment and when they reached the bedroom Dalila felt a tinge of sadness. She had never before been a very assertive girl. She was always rather passive but for some reason just there and then she didn’t want to be. She kissed Martin gently on the lips. When she pulled away, it’d be a lie to say she wasn’t a little embarrassed. Growing red Dalila quickly disappeared through the door and leaned against it on the other side.

“I’ve been taught not to argue with ladies but I’m not sure I fully agree. How could one ever measure my love for you?” Alec said winking and gently taking the bottle from her to have another drink himself. He sat down and they talked, with shimmering stars lighting the sky above them. He cuddled her on the balcony taking a sip of champagne now and then. Somewhere along the line he must have fallen asleep.
