It had been a rather quiet and smooth drive. This was to be expected with Hotaru manning the car. She had been born here and was well-versed with the roads in this country. Cassie, on the other hand, had looked at her phone when it played a tune indicating she received a text message. It was from Aeon and even if it was short and very much like him, this was enough to give her comfort. A faint blush was present on her cheeks which Hotaru noticed from the rear-view mirror. "Master Aeon certainly knows what to say, doesn't he?" Cassie heard this as she raised her head to meet Hotaru's gaze through the mirror. She happily nodded. “Yes! He really is a warm person.”
The conversation ended there and a more peaceful and comfortable atmosphere settled inside the car. This time she looked out the window and gazed at the scenery. Cassie could notice some of the people looking at the car since it would be impossible to her through the glass. Hotaru told her that it was a one-way mirror. It made her wonder if there was something special about the car (Rolls-Royce Phantom) she was riding. This was rather common for her as they had plenty back at her homeland. "We're here Elle." Her thoughts interrupted as she looked to the other side when the car finally came to a full stop. “So, this is where Varthur Laurence lived...”
Her comment was more to the fact she had never been here before than the amazement of mansion. She is after all used to such grandeur on various levels. "Are you ready?" Hotaru asked her gently to ensure she was prepared emotionally for such an event. Cassie took a deep breath and had a determined expression on her face. “I'm ready.” She must be strong since Aeon had even encouraged her. Hotaru smiled warmly at this and went out of the car. Then, she opened the one where Cassie could come out. “Thank you.” Hotaru nodded as Cassie stepped out. She wore a rather fashionable black victorian coat and black fabric ankle boots with wedge heels which sharply contrasted against her silver white hair and porcelain white skin. It makes her natural features stand out more and her beauty pronounced.
"Mr. Laurence had been informed of your attendance in advance. He has done business with the Duke before. So, you will be representing the Argyris Family not only as a fellow Senior at Airdalen." Cassie looked at Hotaru oddly as she doesn't understand why that should be done. Is that supposed to be a requirement or something? "I believed you might feel more at ease if you went with a reason. Since, you told me that you have not met or known Mr. Varthur personally." Cassie slowly caught on and slowly smiled in thanks. Hotaru was looking out for her again. “Thank you, Hotaru. You're the best.” Then, she finally remembered the flowers she had bought. “Oh, the flowers!” Hotaru stopped her from doing this. "It should be fine with this." Cassie looked at the silver and black envelope. “What's this?” She looked at it curiously as she took it.
"It is a custom here in Japan, condolence money." Cassie nodded in understanding as she is not familiar with the culture of this country despite studying. There are still some things she is unaware of. “What about the flowers?” She looked at Hotaru with her ruby red eyes. "They will be given another time." Cassie was not completely satisfied with that answer but let it be for now. “Okay.” Hotaru closed the door of the vehicle and made sure that everything was secured. "Shall we go?" Cassie's grip on the black and silver envelope tightened a bit before giving a stern nod. “Yes, let's go.”
The two of them began to walk towards the entrance as they passed by other two new arrivals. (Kaoru and Arietta) Cassie's appearance immediately stood out from the crowd of people and some recognizing her white hair and red eyes even offered polite greetings as she is one of the top elites in the society. But, she is seriously here to share in the grief of someone too soon to die.
