From reading the message displayed on the datapad, as well as listening to what the Ishkavi had to say, Lekan had a reasonable hypothesis as to what might have happened. Before turning his attention back to the datapad, he proceeded to repair the rest of the wires that he could reach. Restoring the synthetic's internals would probably help with the next part, if only slightly.

"It was stupid of you to try and alter your own programming, especially so drastically," Lekan typed. "Give me a moment to find what it was you deemed so undesirable." With the mainframe there to help guide him, the Ondari managed to locate the virus and its handiwork. Some of the corrupted parts looked like combat protocols, others... not so sure, but most likely something important. At this point it couldn't be simply deleted; the damn thing had more or less integrated itself into the system, and removing it would probably cause more harm than good.

Could this virus be rewritten? He had to at least try, otherwise any replacement protocols might be recognised as undesirables by the virus. Tapping away at the keypad, Lekan wrote up something that would hopefully stop its digital rampage, maybe confine it to an isolated system. It was hard to tell what the exact effect would be, but it should buy him some time if nothing else.

Next, Lekan had to write up those replacement protocols. He knew that humans designed most of their combat synthetics to be aggressive, merciless killers. Perhaps that was what the virus was trying to get rid of? He decided to write the new protocols based on those of Ondari synthetics, which placed more emphasis on protecting the vulnerable and keeping the peace. Submitting the new programming, he hoped that the system didn't decide to reject it.

"I've done what I can," he told the Ishkavi. "All that's left to do is wait and see what happens. And you, up there, thank you kindly for the light."

"No probs," replied the other Ondari. "Just don't tell anyone I was 'ere and we'll call it even." Without waiting for a reply, he quickly left the room, leaving the four in the dim light of the repair bay.
