Beibhinn slowly let her talons fall from her, her wings drifting back to her sides as she simply listened to him. She spent most of her life listening to others, so really she never had a choice to butt in. She was too used to waiting for the pause, the time to talk. But when it came this time, she didn't know how she was could respond. No words came quickly to her tongue, just doubts and desperate attempts to unravel what his master scheme had to be. How he was trapping her and her daughter even further in his web...So she said the only thing she could think of.
"Harpies are mostly female..." she whispered quietly. "Momma said...that that's why we're almost extinct. Too many women flapping around, but none giving birth to males...Something about the...genetic makeup..." She swallowed hard. "That's how I know. That I'll have a daughter."
