Hazel smiled brightly when Basil and Malcolm said they were in agreement. She turned towards Lila, then pushed her glassed back into place as she sudden movement made them slip down her nose. She made a metal note to invest on contacts one of these day.
"The plan, my dear Lila, is to fly up to the tower with no one seeing us. We'll use a spell, I think Basil has been working on one. She nudged her brother a bit to insure that he was still listening. An once we're as high as he can go, we look out and see if there's anything out there. Something out on the ordinary. And if there isn't, we'll know that this rumor is stupid and false. Though if we do see something, well, I'll make that up as we go along."
Hazel looked around the courtyard, make sure know one was looking in this particular direction. She didn't see much, and for one it was mostly empty. Only a few Hufflepuffs loitering around near the school entrance. They aren't much of a tattletale. Beyond that was just the black and grey stone of the court. A blank space, not counting the large bronze statue of Albus Dumbledore, the head master of Hogwarts before...well, everyone knows the story. Hazel was only a first year at the time. She wasn't even aloud to fight in the war! Just sit like ducks while everyone else got hurt or killed my The Dark Lord.
That's why Hazel was so intent on solving this rumor. If there was something under Hogwarts, it could be dangerous. She wanted, for once, to play the hero, and not just sit around while everyone else gets killed. Her and her best friends, or course. She wouldn't even think about leaving them behind.
Not a chance.
