Alexander's countenance hinted a portion of his irritation as he rode towards his destination. His father had recalled his son from his informal exile that was meant to be a learning experience for the prince. It had been a long trip to return home, which quickly resulted in father and son communicating much like they always had - at sword point. Of course it wasn't anything over dangerous, but the fact the two exchanged blades for the duration of the conversation without caution would cause the unfamiliar to bat their eyes. The King had apparently felt that despite age tempering his son somewhat that the youth was far from satisfactory...not that it prevented him from informing his son of his marriage arrangement.
Alexander was both relieved and slightly horrified that he knew the girl - after all if memory served he'd maliciously tormented the girl during their younger days. However at the very least he was glad he wouldn't need an interpreter to converse with his bride-to-be provided things even got that far. However due to time he'd had to quickly leave in order to arrive on time for the official meeting with the girl and her family. During the travel back he'd heard rumor that the family had managed not just one great marriage arrangement but perhaps first rate catches around the board. To say the least this only heightened his interest in matters - after all this was a huge thing for politics if rumor turned out to be truth.
" Well at least my local arrangements are still good, though I may need a new hound..." Alexander had grown overly comfortable with English during his period abroad and thus voiced his thoughts in the tongue. When he'd left, his pet wolf had fallen ill - his current need for haste meant he'd have to wait until after his arrival at the Mountbatten estate before finding out. As things came into view, he quickly learned he was not the first to arrive and confidently slowed his pace by a bit...no need to appear rushed after all. He'd hardly managed to get his features arranged properly before arriving and found himself following after another young man who had already arrived. Alexander dismounted before finishing his own arrival on foot, given his lack of knowledge of the situation the prince remained silent.
