Carson could not complain about Shay's response to his insistence that she needed to make things right with her family even if it cost him of getting to be with her. He wanted the kiss to feel wrong but it didn't. Even as her fingers pressed against the sensitive side of his face, his lips turned into a wide smile once she pulled away. Maybe it was the fact that this kiss didn't end in a fist to his face, but this felt right. It felt right enough that he decided she was right. Owen needed to realize that Shay was an adult at some point and if he couldn't trust that Carson was going to treat her well, than he wasn't going to be satisfied with her dating anyone. When it came down to it, it didn't matter if he was satisfied anyway. This wasn't his life, and if anyone was making the wrong dating choices regarding their family, it was him! He was the one dating Tinashé's enemy, so he had no leg to stand on when it came to judging people's relationship choices.
"You really want to get your ass kicked, huh?" he grinned at the reminder of their bowling rivalry. As her arms wrapped around his neck, his hands became intertwined around her waist. He didn't even flinch when his pocketed phone started vibrating. No one who was texting him could be important enough for him to take his eyes off of her. Now that this was out in the open and Carson knew that his feelings weren't one sided, it was impossible for him to not smile as he looked at her face. This summer was undoubtedly going to be interesting, but it was an adventure he was willing to embark on. He had waited long enough to do so and now that it was apparent that there was no turning back, it wouldn't have made sense for him to continue to suppress the feelings to benefit some friend who clearly hated him. "But I guess that brings me to my next question. There's no bowling alley here and I know miss Tinashé Kachingwe is too regal to spend a summer in a bachelor pad. So, you're staying here tonight but what's the deal going to be after that?" He wanted her to stay there with him for the rest of the summer but it didn't seem like a plausible suggestion. He couldn't expect her to just leave the house she's spent half of her life in after they had only just come clean about their feelings. Even if it was just a temporary two month thing, moving in together was a step that Carson couldn't even fathom. Besides, and this was his petty side speaking, but he didn't want Shay to just let Owen win like that. The two of them living together would probably shut him down in itself, but there was a part of Carson that wanted to force Owen to accept that he and Shay were... whatever they were. He couldn't run from it forever and even if he wanted nothing to do with Carson again, he couldn't just erase his sister from his life.
