He'd lost count of the days he'd been alone, in this forbidden hell-hole, those ravaging beasts were still infecting places heavily, and he wondered how much of humanity was actually left. He winced as he started cutting through the thickness of grass in a fairly wooded area he was trying to pass through.
It was definitely summer time, as the mosquitoes poked and prodded at him, and he constantly swatted at his bare, muscular arms. In his current situation, he was alone, and if he wanted to survive for much longer, he probably needed to find one of those camps he'd only heard about.
Nilan had tried to find one of these camps once, but by the time he actually found it, those things were all over it, screaming and blood was everywhere, and the sound of those rotten teeth sinking into pure human flesh. Just thinking about it sent a shiver down his spine. Nilan looked up after cutting some more grass, and to his eyes he found a haven, somewhere to rest for a few days. Finally.
He approached it slowly, and men with guns looking him over. "Have you been bit?" They snarled, inspecting every inch of him for any possible sign of anything. Nilan shook his head. "I struck them in the head before they got that close." He chuckled to himself, and ran a hand through his sweaty, oily hair. The guards hesitantly let him inside the gates, which creaked loudly, and informed a nearby herd of their whereabouts. It wasn't one minute before Nilan was being chased, and he got far enough away to see that the gate was having trouble closing, and he braved the fear pulsing his veins, and took his knife, stabbing as many skulls as he could, and the gate was still struggling.
"Can I get some help over here? Surely, not all of you are such cowards!" He grumbled, and sneered as he dodged a massive bite.
