Perfect. Just perfect!
Akinyi bounded after the leopard, attempting to keep up as much as she could without tripping over anyone else. Falling right behind Neveah, Akinyi kept her nose to the wind, desperately clinging to the scent if the intruder. Though Neveah didn’t believe she bore any ill will towards the pride, what she did spoke otherwise. I tried the understanding approach, now I have to assure that she’s caught. As she thought this, Neveah got tripped up by a protruding tree root.
"She can't leave! No matter, she can't leave."
That was all Akinyi needed to hear. She pushed herself to catch up with the leopard with Nuru right behind her while the rest of the pride scattered in an attempt to surround her. As the scent of the intruder got closer, Akinyi saw Betyr who’d cornered the leopard in a group of ferns. She was laying on the ground, panting and seemingly tired. Suddenly aware of how far she’d run, Akinyi noticed she was doing the same, and began to slow her breathing.
"Come out now, young Leopard. You're hurt and weakened from running, and will not last much longer against an alerted Pride. State your name and your intentions in our lands, so that we may hopefully put away our teeth and claws shortly."
The usually calm Betyr seemed to be absolutely fuming. Akinyi began to wonder what the leopard had possibly done to set him off like that. In the next moment, Vale ran to the scene, inquiring as to what happened.
”We tracked this intruder from the waterfall, surrounded her, yet she escaped.” Akinyi growled lowly in annoyance at herself for not being able to stop her, and at her because she’d done something so reckless and had basically the entire pride chasing her. Realizing she was getting upset, Akinyi reeled in her emotions. ”We now have her cornered.”
Nuru advanced to the ferns where Betyr was lying in wait. Akinyi stepped closer to make the gap between herself and Nuru smaller in case she attempted to make another run for it like before. With this many of the pride here and her being cornered, it would be dumb to try to run again, but Akinyi readied herself to pounce in case she tried to.
