So according to Sensei, the group who was hired to target Mazaro was within the Leaf... an inside job? That really didn't seem likely to her. And if it was the case, someone from outside of the village was hiding within it. Or maybe... Her right hand reached up to lightly touch at her eyelids. No... It wouldn't have been a member of her clan, would it? Denial was so much easier than acknowledging this truth. Besides, what would her clan want with this screwball of a ninja anyway? But the fact that he was targetted over a young Sharingan user did bother her. Needless to say, she'd be looking into this of her own accord when she had time. He was her comrade now, after all... Shaking her thoughts from this business from the time being, Kazuo-sensei called her over to interrogate the attacker. Why her? Her Sharingan was nowhere near the level of Itachi's to do that sort of thing... "You said you wanted to learn more about Genjutsu," he said, leaving Chika with a raised eyebrow. No, she never said that, but she wasn't about to refuse a teaching.
The basics of Genjutsu had been taught to her in the Academy, but witnessing Kazuo-sensei's Plague Technique first-hand was something else. She'd managed to catch the hand seals for this technique... perhaps it was something to practice later. Given the fact that it made this man cough up some information before dying of the illusion's power, it was certainly a technique worth knowing. Chika stood up straight, trying to shake the image of death from her mind a moment before pondering what information they were just given... "Masked man..." She didn't seem satisfied with that information. "Mazako-kun. Shiki-chan. Areesia-san. Please hurry and finish tying up these men. Their information was cryptic and they may know more." She was being uncharacteristically confident at the moment as she gave orders. "Kazuo-sensei, you and I can start getting these bodies to the village. Anbu should be able to get more information out of them than us Gennin."
She paced away from the village a few steps quickly, taking a deep enough breath to fill her lungs and lift her to her toes, then slowly exhaled it to a more relaxed state. "This isn't sitting right with me... Why Mazio-kun? Is it because of his Dragon Style techniques? If that was the case, why not just steal what documentations the Hokage have? That'd be more helpful than some under-developed Gennin..." She murmured this to herself before returning to her sensei with gusto. She crouched beside him, still at the body, and leaned in close. "...I don't know why that information makes it clear that this was someone in the village, Sensei..." It was strange to see the almost timid Uchiha acting so confidently, so deductively and seriously. "If you know something, now's the time. Our teammate was attacked and all of us were put in danger as a result. We're lucky it was just some small fry that even I could have dispatched..." Perhaps how she was putting all of this was rude to her superior. But he just told them all to be on guard, as a team. And for her team, she was going to ask the questions. Maybe the Uchiha police force was in her bloodline after all. Her eyes, though still the emerald green hues of her mother, were fierce in determination. She just couldn't shake the feeling of missing information in the fact that Mazaro was the target of all of the team members. Why not Kazuo-sensei, who was bound to have made enemies along his way as a Jounin? Why not Shiki, who could literally see spirits? Why not Areesia, given her Chuunin status and rather interesting list of techniques? And really, not that she wanted to be targetted, but she couldn't stop asking why she wasn't targetted. The Uchiha have been hunted and targetted not only by other villages, but even sometimes within Konoha itself for their eyes. What was so damn special about Mazaro?
