- "So, tell me again why you went back to hick-ville? I thought you said you never wanted to go back." Giselle's best friend and assistant, Marjorie De Ville asked over the phone on speaker as Giselle was driving her car further and further away from her extravagant lifestyle and closer to her hometown as she chuckled. "Will you please stop calling it that and I told you, I just need a break from everything especially after Gaspard and I broke it off. I just need to be away from all the press and pressure and shallow people of the fashion world." She explained to her friend for what felt like the millionth time. She just needed a break, nothing more. She messed the small town feel where everyone knew one another, how she could walk places without having to be afraid of being attacked or something at night. And she never said it was forever, just for a few weeks and if she liked it enough, who knows? Maybe she'll decide to move back and stay out of the spotlight, start a family, or somethin'. Marjorie groaned. "Ellie, you're one those shallow people! You belong here, you're beautiful and sexy, and the media loves you! Why would you want to give all of that up for some small town that you left the second you were given the chance?" She had a point but, then again she didn't. Marjorie was raised in huge cities all her life. "Well, I'm not like that anymore. I'm not the shallow, egotistical, materialistic Giselle anymore. I'm the sweet, independent, and relatable Ellie now." Marjorie scoffed. "What?"
"What what?"[/color] Marjorie retorted back. "What was with the scoff?" Giselle asked as she checked herself in the mirror before puckering her lips. "The fact that you think you'll ever be relatable to those people. Elle, you're worth 75 million dollars or something like that, you tied with Heidi Klum on a list of the richest supermodels, your face and pretty much naked body is literally all over the world right now in magazines, and billboards, and--.."
"I get it." Giselle interrupted as she rolled her eyes. "And, Marge you're acting like this is forever, it's only a few weeks." She reassured her friend. "For now. B-but, what if you like it and decide to stay there forever?! Not only will I be out of the job but, I'll also lose my best friend." So that's what this is about. Now, Giselle got why Marge was being so difficult and hard headed. "Margie, I love you. You know that and you really think I'll like Virgina Falls more than I love you and Paris? C'mon, now. I promise a few weeks and then you'll be back on the clock, fucking up my coffee, making me make you go back and do it right. Okay?" Marjorie took a deep breath of relief. "Okay, fine. Look I gotta go, Cruella is my new boss while you're away and madam wants her non fat, slim milk, caramel-less macchiato plus its pretty early here meaning the quicker I get it, the quicker I can go. Call me later?" Ellie chuckled. "Of course, talk to you tonight... Well, tomorrow morning for you. Au Revoir, my love." Marjorie chuckled before blowing her boss a kiss through the phone before Giselle did the same. She pushed hang up on her phone and her music resumed to play, Home by Edward Sharpe as she took a deep breath. Wow, that girl was tiring! The French woman turned her eye back onto the road as she made sure to keep an eye out for any sight of her town.
She looked down at her GPS which was pretty much telling her to go straight until she reach civilization. It was only seconds after looking away did she see the city and hearing the robotic woman's voice saying 'You are now reaching your destination.' Giselle took a deep breath as she entered the town. As looked out the window nothing really changed everything look exactly like it did when she left. She looked at the address of her parents' house who may have not lived there but couldn't get themselves to let go of the darling little thing. So, until she could find something better. She was left to her own devices in a four bedroom, two bathroom house not far from the main street. She drove there with Blake Sheldon playing in the background, she pulled in front of the house on the dirt road, the dirt getting on to her shoes as she exited the truck and walked to her truck to start unpacking. Most of her stuff her father insisted should be shipped to the house where her cousin, Dinny and Ronald could put it in the house and start unpacking the bigger stuff for her. She grabbed two boxes, one on top of the other as she grunted a bit before walking into her new house. The light were off but, it was bright enough out where it seemed sunny and bright within the house.
She set her clothes in the master bedroom on the top floor as she set them down before heading back to her truck for the last two and her makeup caboodle. She shut the trunk and locked her car before picking the two boxes up and setting them in her room next to the other two. She looked at them as took a deep breath as she laid on to the bed that she used to lay in every night with the skylight above, letting the stars shine though. She squinted her eyes as the sun came through as she groaned. "How did I use to close this damn thing?" She asked herself as she got up, her heels clicking against the wooden, rustic floors as she went to light switch which right next to it was a up and down switch which controlled the skylight opening and closing, her father's idea of course and while they got it right before she left, she did get to show it off the her boyfriend of the time several times. But, of course when she pushed the button... nothing. Nothing happened but a quick 'poof' sound. She groaned. "Great." The young lady rolled her eyes before turning on her heels only to stop at the mirror to take a quick, well quick-ish look at herself. She fluffed up her newly shortened hair, fixed her tight and short black dress that hugged her curves, and fixed the navy jacket that went over it. She puckered her lips only turning away from her reflection and to her purse as she heard her phone go off. She pulled it out and read a text from Marjorie.
From : Marge
btw you told me to remind you of your high school reunion and to get out of the house and see if you can find any of your 'friends'
She sighed as she remembered about the reunion, she hadn't been in town for years and actually couldn't wait to see how some people have changed. She tossed her phone back into her black bag before grabbing her purse and walking down the stairs and out the door to her car to drive back into town to get some breakfast, or lunch, or whatever it was right now. Her jetlag was so bad she didn't even want to know what time it was. She started her car and drove back to town only to park her car in a parking lot to walk the rest of the way. She got a few glaces from people, only for them to call her name to see if it was really her. She would smiled and greet them only to turn back to her walk to see what there was. Looking around, it was all coming back to her especially the smell of coffee at their local coffee shop. She took a deep breath with a smile as she entered Lucy's Cafe. She looked at the menu, geez after being in some of the 'coffee capitals' of the world their menu just looked so... small in comparison. She remembered as a child she thought it was endless and she would never be able to have everything on the menu but, by the time she graduated she had tried everything at least twice. "Can I just get a regular coffee, black." The woman nodded as she stared at Giselle a bit, as if trying to remember where she had saw the model before.
"Nice to see you too, Angie." The woman behind the counter chuckled as Ellie smirked and winked towards her before grabbing her mug and heading to a stool near the counter and taking out her phone, already articles were popping up that Marge told her not to look at. So, she didn't. She took a sip of her coffee with a smug smile on her face, knowing she was going to be able to prove to everyone she could return to normal anytime she wanted.
