Oh my god. Please don't ignore me like that. I love you too. Can we see each other
soon? Or is that not a option at the moment? xx

Maybe its not the best time to see each other, but if he knows where you live...
I don't know if you can stay there. I don't know what to do Elisa.

From: Elisa
If it's not one things it's another. :/ It's probably not even his. Just a kid trying to freak people out.
There's nothing you can do.

Mom leaves for Japan tonight. Jess starts preschool again tomorrow. I can go over later tonight, if that
makes you feel better?

The graffiti on the wall meant very little to Elisa, as she obviously hadn't been around when Malachai miraculously came back from the dead and encountered Beck. To her it was just another kid, likely from their school, trying to be edgy or creepy or bad ass. Though, if he was that worried about it, she assumed the words - which were random to her - meant something to him. Was it supposed to be a threat? Then who was the "Little Bird" Malachai was supposedly threatening? It all made her very confused in ways she didn't want to think about.

Plus, she still wasn't entirely convinced it was Malachai. Perhaps it was someone they knew back then, posing as him? All of it was so far fetched and she felt like she was living in a soap opera. She was convinced her life would make for popular daytime television. After all, who gets knocked up at fourteen with a dead baby daddy that makes a new appearance years later. That was some serious Days of Our Lives shit. She sighed, staring at her phone as she waited for Beck's reply.

Her life was getting way to convoluted and stressful than she ever wanted it to be. Sometimes she cursed herself for not being able to kill herself properly, as though life would be much easier for everyone if she was dead. She balanced the phone on her forehead, nearly falling asleep when Allison reentered her room.

"Alan's off for the rest of the day. I've got to go grocery shopping for all the ridiculous thing on his list, so you'll be alone with Jess. Is that okay with you?" Allison asked with a smile.

"Ab-so-lute-ly." Elisa answered with a sing songy tone. Jess hopped into the room just as Allison was closing the door behind her. "What are you today, a rabbit?"

"Yes! Just like Ruby and Max." Jess said with a wide toothed grin. Elisa finally pulled herself out of bed and the girls played for a while; dolls, tag, dress up and all sorts of things. She knew that Allison would likely be gone for hours and she couldn't just lay in bed with an energetic toddler bouncing around like a rabbit. The time passed by quickly, and went she heard a knock on the door she assumed it was the nanny returning from her shopping trip.

"Just a second Alli!" Elisa said, running down the stares and throwing her long brown hair into a pony tail. She opened the door wide, expecting the woman to be standing their with sacks full of food...

What she didn't expect was a red head with spiky hair and brown eyes, so similar to Jess's, to be standing there. Malachai grinned. Her heart dropped to her knees. "Hello, Liz. Long time no see?"

Elisa couldn't say anything, she stood completely frozen in the doorway. Dead, he was supposed to be dead. "H-how..."

"Ran into your boyfriend the other day. Gave me a nasty scar. Always had a taste for the bad boys haven't ya?" He was still grinning like a fox and so completely unlike what he had been when they were fourteen. In appearance he was so completely the same and so different at the same time.

Elisa thought she would have been frozen in the same spot forever, had she not heard the voice of a tiny red headed girl. "Oh, Lissy! Your friend has hair like mine." She said, with a smile of youthful innocence on her face.

It was then that Malachai did a double take. Red hair, brown eyes, about as old as the time he left Elisa. It didn't take him much to put it all together and when he did, the shock was evident in his face. "Well isn't that interesting." He said to the little girl, his eyes narrowing in on her.

"Jessie, I'm going to need you to go upstairs and not come down until I say it's okay. Alright, baby?" Elisa commanded.

"But-" She opened her mouth to protest.

"Don't argue. Not this time. Upstairs." Elisa stated firmly, something she very rarely did with Jess. The girls eyes widened and she ran up the stairs as fast as her little legs would carry her. The entire time she had her back turned to Malachai and had been instructing Jess to leave, she had also been dialing Beck's number - and left the line open in her pocket and case he answered.

"I didn't want to believe them." Elisa began in a shaking voice.

"So you wished I was dead?" Malachai rolled his eyes at her.

"That's what I was told."

"Always listening to mommy and daddy, your fatal flaw...But less about me. Isn't it a bit curious that no one in your family has red hair except that little girl? I didn't hear her call you mom though." His eyes had turned from lifeless to angry in a flash.

"I don't think any of that is your business." Elisa's heart was pounding in her chest so hard she thought it might pop right out.

"I think it's a lot of my business. How old is she three? And you were so sick right before your parents paid me off."

"Did you leave that message in the park?" She desperately tried to change the subject off of her daughter.

"So he did see it? Already? That was quick. I have good timing. I came here to send him another." Now Malachai was grinning, and it wasn't at all similar to the one fourteen year old Elisa had found comforting years ago. This one was dark, like a completely different person had possessed him. She took a step back from him as he pushed through the doorway.

"You need to leave." She glanced around, looking for anything she could use to defend herself.

"Oh I will," He moved so fast there was no way for Elisa to stop him. Before she knew it she was pressed up against the wall in her entry way, with a knife pressed against her neck. He dragged it slowly and stopped, leaving only a small cut on the side of her neck. That was when she heard Jess scream from the top of the stairs. Malachai laughed. "Tell him that's for the leg and I'll be going after him soon enough."

He turned his attention to the girl at the top of the stairs. "I'll see you soon, too. After all, I am your dad." With that he left the house and Elisa ran up to Jess, who was crying and very, very confused.
