Amelia pulled into a parking spot in her brand new 2014 Scion xB, a gift from her parents. She didn't turn off her car just yet. She let her stereo continue to blare out "I Know Places" by Taylor Swift. She pulled down her visor and opened the mirror so she could check her makeup. In the past year, it wasn't just her style that had changed.
She used to be almost a hippy. Her style was now more of a rocker chick. She had a leather jacket on over an almost sheer red button down blouse with skulls and roses on the pattern. She wore a mini skirt with lacy stockings. She turned off her car and put her visor up. She opened her car door, shifting and putting her boot clad feet on the concrete. She grabbed her bag and walked away from her car, locking the car with the car remote.
It had been one year since she had been back in this school. After Callum disappeared, her parents thought it would be best if she went off with her mother for her job. She also had to help out her mother who was pregnant with twins. She spent her sophmore year at some hick school in Montana.
Even though they could have come home after school in May, Lia didn't come back to Rosewood until June. And until school started she was trapped in the house with her parents and her three siblings. The newest were born in March and were twin boys. Simon and Thomas. They were adorable and that's basically all Lia did every day.
Her parents were stricker than ever but they didn't mind her changing her style or dying her hair black. Over the past year, she only communicated with her friends through emails, texts, and phone calls. She wanted to keep in contact more but she had been too busy with her new life. She missed them and Callum like crazy. But there had still been no word from him. No one knew where he went. She had a sinking feeling that she'd never see him again.
The now raven hair girl heard her text message go off. She put in her locker combination then grabbed her phone.
I don't remember you being that stacked. Was that plastic surgery or something else? -c
She rolled her eyes. "Perv." She was about to shove her phone back in her purse when she read it again. C? Did that stand for Callum? Her heart began to race. She looked around the hall but he wasn't there. No one was even looking in her direction. Apparently they didn't recognise her new look.
She grabbed her books and hurried off to English class, shoving her phone in he purse. She took a seat near the back, not wanting any eye on her. She dug through her bag for a pen while her mind raised. She hadn't told him. She never had a chance. He disappeared before she knew anything.
