"Ow..." Mikaze rubbed his back a little while frowning a bit. He then smiled unconvincingly at his best friend question before scratching his now soaked head, "I...I'm good. Don't worry. I'm just being a little air-headed so..."
He said but couldn't hide that his whole face his as red as a tomato again for the uncountable time of the day already. Whether if it is because of the heat in the bath or for some other reasons is unclear. But of course, the fact that this scene has turned out to be like some sort of romance manga hadn't failed to cross his mind either. And it could only worsen his embarrassment.
He sunk his face deep to his nose and breathed out bubbles to gather his thoughts for a bit, before leaning next to Hitoshi, "Yeah, I'm always careful, am I not? It's just that... I was a bit distracted by... a certain of things that are happening right now, you know, hehe..." He said while grinning in a really uncool way.
Both of them stayed silent for a couple of minutes later. Mikaze has to admitted that because of this all happens so suddenly that he's just become a lot more sensitive over small details like this. But... it wasn't entirely as bad. He's feeling almost like when he just started going out with his first date. And then, he was a little taken aback by Hitoshi's sudden question on what would happen should he never comes back and moving in to stay with him instead. While he's still figure out what to reply, his best friend then went on explaining the reason why he said that.
Letting out a sigh, Mikaze punched Hitoshi lightly before chuckling, "It'd be nice if we can stay together, I have to admit. Though I won't be completely certain that my mom is going to approve, heh. You did know that like as long as the time you have to live without the presence of your mom, I haven't had a 'dad' for more than a decade now. I'm also the only son anyway."
Squeezing the other towel in the water, Mikaze then hung it over his head, "Look, I didn't tell you to just throw all the conflicts between you and your folks at home out of the window. Whether if I'm daydreaming or not, I still think that surely at least one of them really is looking out for you, although secretly." He then paused a bit before continuing, "Actually, I came across with Akio-san once and he told me some stuffs like 'thank you for looking after our little bro' and things like that. So, it doesn't really hurt to just make a believer, does it? But just rest assure that I'm here for you and I won't be going anywhere." Mikaze smiled brightly but his face is of course visibly red.
They stayed in the hot spring bath for a while. When they're completely refreshed and cleaned, Mikaze stood up, "Let's get ourselves dried up before we become boiled chicken. I'm a little starving already."
