Eugene's father snickered as he listened to his boy's goodbye. "Ahh so Laia is her name huh? The queen has told me of the new heir but alas, I have not see her myself. Neither has she I believe." He smiled. "You must have been really lucky to see her Eugene." His mother then smiled. "Yes, but you have to remember to keep the thought of others customs in mind. If you are not suppose to be there, please don't break any rules alright?" Eugene nodded and then sighed a bit.
"Hm? What's wrong big guy?" His dad said before Eugene smiled. "Dad, how come I wasn't placed in a room for a super long time while I was growing up." His father smiled and folded his arms. "Because that isn't our tradition. However, when you get a bit older, your going to take part in a ritual that will show your determination, will to live and loyalty to your people. You remember what it was right?"
Eugene gulped. "The trials." He mumbled. He was completely frightened but luck's been on his side so far.
