Trixie glanced over her shoulder. Flynn was gone, as was his constant companion. She had a bad feeling about the two of them, and while she didn't want to make any accusations, she couldn't ignore it. Before she could say anything about the fire itself, a fireman appeared and gave Gretel the good news. Trixie shrugged as Gretel turned to talk to her. "Well, that nice fireman just told you the first part. I had to go back in to get my bag-" she held up the bag as if to show what she meant, "-and there was no sign of a fire. Like, literally nothing. So now I have a bad feeling about that Flynn guy," she said, glancing over her shoulder. "Like, Ruby told me to watch my stuff when they came in, and I can't help but feel that there was something bad happening. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't know," she said, shrugging a little.

Ruby arrived, clearly and understandably upset and worried. Trixie turned to her. "There was a false alarm. Flynn whatshisface set off the alarm and started yelling about a fire, but there was no sign of a fire when I went back in for my bag, and the fireman said the same thing," she explained. Trixie's hand went to the bottle of pixie dust around her neck as she glanced over her shoulder, still scanning the crowd for them.

The hospital was nearer than Will had been expecting. His companions said their goodbyes and left again. Everything about them seemed to be hurried, but Will didn't dwell on it for too long. He made his way into the hospital and up to the desk. The nurse there looked up and smiled.
"Can I help you?" she asked.
"Hopefully," he said, smiling. "Are there any doctors free I could talk to? I have a problem with my joints that causes me quite a lot of pain, and I was hoping to get a prescription for painkillers." He always had to be careful to phrase it so he didn't sound like a junkie, trying to make up an excuse to get his fix.
"Oh, you poor thing. I can check for you," she said, and started typing at her computer. He stood there in silence, praying that there would be someone. One x-ray would show them the damage if they didn't believe the cane. The nurse pulled a face as she looked back up at him.
"No, honey, I'm afraid not. Nobody will be free to talk for another day or so," she said. His fist clenched around the handle of his cane.
"Is there really nobody I can talk to? I ran out three days ago and have been in quite a lot of pain ever since," he said, determined to get as much sympathy from her as possible. She frowned, tapping at the edge of her keyboard.
"Take a seat in the waiting area, I'll see what I can do," she said eventually. He smiled at her and took a seat, glad to have the weight off of his feet. Of course he'd wanted a heart more than he'd wanted this joints problem fixed.
