ćFolding Leaves Full Album | Message To Bearsć
Eris sat on her bed in her room, staring at the Rubik's Cube floating in front of her. In the background, Eris' favourite band that day, Message To Bears, happily chirped away. As Eris stared, the Rubik's Cube moved, rotating slowly as the pieces slid back into the right places. Her fingers tapped her skinny jeans as it moved, hardly breathing and not blinking at all. Her hazel eyes were intense and wide, and she was biting her lip as the Cube hovered and turned.
Slowly, but surely, the Cube was coming together. The pieces slid together, albeit slowly, and Eris let out a slow breath. Her finger tapped to the beat of the music, and once again it moved.
Ring ring!
Eris' expression faltered for just a second in surprise, and the Cube dropped onto the bed, before rolling onto the floor. "Dammit!" She muttered, touching her nose with her fingers. They came back bloody. Sniffing, Eris pinched her nose and grabbed a tissue, holding it there until the blood stopped. "Stupid phone." She muttered again, before her eyes lit up. The phone had rang! That meant...
"We got a mission!" Eris yelled at the top of her voice, placing the tissue in the bin. She did a once over in the mirror, making sure that the long jumper - a short one on poor Rebecca - didn't have any blood on it, before dancing out of her room. She spotted Connor on the phone, and grinned at him, pretty much bouncing.
Connor and the others headed to the car, and Eris tailed them. She could hear the buzzing of their minds, but blocked it out, focusing on the task at hand. So many thoughts were bouncing around her own skull, it was hard to concentrate. She just hoped that something bad would not happen - even though it was completely inevitable.
The car ride was bumpy and uncomfortable, but it was soon over. Eris could hear alarm bells ringing, and the screams of people's minds calling out for help. It was so bad she clasped her hands over her ears and winced every time something new came through. "This isn't supposed to happen..." She whined quietly. She couldn't help wondering if John was around - she knew he was inside, but his presence always affected her somewhat. This time it appeared to be amplification.
"We need to get the hostages out safely Connor." Rebecca spoke up from beside her. Eris flinched slightly, before giving her arm a squeeze. She was nervous, admittedly, but wouldn't let anyone else know. "I can do it. I can fit in the vents to get in." She volunteered, letting go of Rebecca. She projected to both Connor and Rebecca at the same time. "Just get me away from the police. And don't make me go near John. He's making my head weird already." She knew she had probably overcompensated, seeing that her powers were hypersensitive, so it had probably sounded like shouting to Connor and Rebecca. However, she was ready. Ready to do her part for the good of the people - and not as a guinea pig.
