Dani didn't answer his questions he returned but she wasn't sure if she was supposed to regardless. She studied him. So far, from what she'd seen, people didn't just help people because it was the right thing to do in Nander. This boy was different. He was stronger than the people she had seen looking lost and helpless in the streets of the run down city. She followed him as he spoke, interested in him in the way a cat might be interested in another cat, potentially an enemy, hopefully a friend.
He seemed relaxed, like he'd lived like this for a while. She smiled back at the guards once more before following him to the edge of the building. He announced his name was Lee and Dani felt a memory tug at the back of her head. The name was somewhat familiar but she knew no Lee and there was nobody of significance by that name that she could think of at the moment. She nearly bumped into him because she was looking down over the edge of the building as he turned around. She looked up sharply, finding they were hands width apart.
"My name's Dani and it can't be too obvious can it?" Dani asked in response to Lee's question about her being from around there. If her not knowing of the world around her wasn't an indicator, the gold on her fingers and in her ears as well as the different accent hinted at it. She accepted his hand as he helped her down before they moved.
He looked at something on her face and Dani felt herself grow self conscious for a moment before realizing he was looking at the bruise. it wasn't the first. Would not certainly be the last. She was rather miffed that she couldn't do anything about it herself since she needed to stay under cover, but she would heal and he would forget her and she would go her own way and everything would be the same as it was before he did decide to play hero. "Honestly, I'm not as fragile as I look," Dani stated with a smile that said he was being ridiculous.
He spoke again and she couldn't help but feel he was accidentally forcing her to invite him to join her. She took a deep breath that wasn't audible or visible before seeming to shrug indifferently. [color#5c9bde]"You could always spend the night in the inn me and my companions are staying at. There's three of us so there's room for one more in one of the rooms,"[/color] Dani offered as she jumped after him without hesitation with the smaller gap.
She smiled at his words. He wasn't entirely wrong... She was a dangerous killer, but only when need be, yet she was certainly not a mass murderer, regardless of what the Liened king asked of her. She did have standards. He seemed slightly at a loss of words by the end of his talking and she couldn't help but smile. "Well, not really. I'm not fragile, but I'm not a total monstrous being. I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong colored eyes," Dani admitted as they finally reached the ground. She beckoned for him to join her, but she kept her head low as she walked.
"I'm merely visiting for a bit but made the mistake of bumping into a guard when I saw you trying to cover your eye. I forgot in Nander that it's different for the graced... What's it like here? Really?" Dani asked genuinely curious as she began walking backward nimbly, trusting the boy to warn her of any obstacles in her path.
