Mikaze was right, it was pretty much like they were already dating, especially when considering what people considered 'dating' to even be. Hitoshi's face continued to get hotter and hotter as he listened intently to his friend's words.
"Yeah...I guess so..."
Looking up, Hitoshi suddenly wanted to disappear into the ground as he noticed that all eyes in the small Cafe were trained on them. Out of sheer embarrassment he shoved his face into the tabletop in an attempt to hide from all the people around them. He could feel their eyes on him and groaned inwardly.
"Why do people always have to be so interested in someone else's business?"
Hitoshi watched as several cats gathered around his chair, staring down at them and trying to distract himself from the conversation. He didn't want to talk any more about it if all these people would be there pretending it was public entertainment.
Several minutes passed by in silence and Hitoshi couldn't find anything decent to say, despite the fact it was his best friend he was talking to and not some stranger he'd just met. He found himself becoming absorbed in his thoughts. Why wasn't anything turning out the way it did in anime? Sure, he felt embarrassed and uncomfortable, but was it from Mikaze or the people staring at them? His face was red and his heart was beating fast, but wasn't it just from stress?
"Mikaze...I don't know what's happening to me anymore..."
