Not terribly ruffled by Dey's threat, Nova nevertheless didn't have much else to say to her for the moment. She was just having another one of her visions. Durandel was right though, there was no situation so bad in the world that complaining could not make it worse. It even warranted Nova to issue a very quiet apology, as if it could help
It didn't help that the three of them had gotten off on such bad footing together, particularly him and Battle...or whoever she was. If only Cerise was still around, that winged wolf had a wonderful knack for seeing the goodness in everyone. She had saved several of many of them from dying and comforted them in their injuries, and Nova could vividly recall the time that she helped revive him from Schemeko's poison. It was because of her the three of them had even met, and she managed to make a motley group of wolves from rival packs at the very least respect each other for a time. No other wolf he knew could do that. She had been with them from SkyDancer to the Elemental Battles. What a wolf. If anything, it truly was a shame BattleDemon couldn't remember even her now, who must have played such a role in her life. "I bet Cerise could put a positive spin on even this..." Nova said with a sigh.
The foothill they were perched upon was as good a spot as any to start into the Onatah's from. To the north of them, the snowy Sharikere's loomed like jagged teeth, and leading up to them was the rugged corridors and cliff sides that the Dimitrios called their home. If he recalled right, one of the main roads leading into the cliffs was not far from where they were now. Before the war, it had been a major thoroughfare wolves, Dimitrios, Ausi, and otherwise. In fact, the safest route into the Sharikeres through the Falcon's Pass was formed by a spur off the main road. Since the conflict, that route had been closed, necessitating all who wished to go further up into Ausi territory to take a more perilous route. Though none of this really mattered to the three of them now, as the best policy for hiding out was to not use the main road. And navigating the Onatah's was going to be next to impossible without a guide.
