As they made their way to the Shrine itself, Hitoshi wondered what wish to make, and also wondered what Mikaze would wish for. He tossed his five yen coin through the grate and clapped with his his friend, ringing the bell and making his wish: that whatever changes needed to happen during the month to come, would all happen.
"This might be offensive, but doesn't it seem like making wishes is kind of naive?"
Hitoshi didn't bother to be subtle, and almost felt as if he shouldn't be thinking such thoughts. However, he didn't fully believe that his wishes would ever come true, the ideal stemming from the fact only one of his wishes had actually come true so far.
Said wish had technically been two wishes combined into one: his dream to become an accompanist, and the childhood need for a friend. This wish had come true in the form of Mikaze Shirahoshi, and Hitoshi couldn't help but turn slightly pink at the realization that most of his daily happiness was due to the boy standing beside him.
"I don't wanna sound cheesy or anything, but...you know I appreciate you, right?"
Hitoshi stared at the ground as they walked, and although he hadn't wanted to sound like someone from a saucy romance comedy, he still achieved that outcome.
