"Alright, then maybe we can go to pick out something for both of you," Cara nodded, as Holly shot down the idea of getting books for herself, but suggested that they get some for Lateefah. Cara didn't think of herself to be nearly as intelligent as Lateefah was, and she wasn't much of a reader herself, so she didn't really plan on buying books for Tee. If she gave Holly free reign on picking out the books, she would sure they would be ones far too juvenile for Lateefah, or ones about dogs or celebrities, or something that would entertain Holly more than her sister. She kept the idea of shopping there as a possibility though, because she did want to try to help Holly get back on an educational track. She knew it would be a long shot, and maybe she was overstepping her boundaries to even attempt to do so, but it seemed like it could only benefit Holly. Maybe she wouldn't see it that way now, but it would. She needed a degree if she wanted to be anything in life. Well, she needed a degree, or she needed the financial security of a trust fund, and they all knew that Holly would not have the latter.

Cara didn't mind the silence that she was granted when Holly hurried to catch up with Brooklyn, and she and Kiara were left a few steps behind. She didn't really knew Kiara well enough to strike up a conversation, and she probably wouldn't have wanted to anyway. There wasn't much to say, and she was already dealing with enough of an inner monologue inside of her head as she thought about what she was doing. Coming back here was her only option, or so she had told herself hours ago when she had stormed out of her family's penthouse in a fury. She wasn't treated properly or respected at home, and it wasn't like she had her boyfriend's place to crash at anymore. Her father refused to finance an apartment for her unless she was going to school, and not only was Cara not motivated enough for college, she also just didn't want to go to spite him. She wanted to run her life her way, and if he wanted her to go to college, than that was exactly what she did not want to do. It was so petty and it was clearly only hurting herself. Her father and his wife would be jetting off to Maui the next morning, and here she was... heading to CVS to buy things to turn a corner of a basement into her home. It wasn't a fair trade, but Cara just couldn't run back there. Not after she had stormed out like a brat, and not after that bitch had tried to act like she was the ruler of her house.

Cara was ready to follow Brooklyn and Holly into CVS, but was stopped by Kiara as she stepped into the doorway. The girl's face definitely looked paler than it had a couple of minutes before, but Cara didn't think very much of it because again, she didn't know her well enough to be certain that she seemed off right now. "Oh, okay," Cara nodded as she explained that she was going across the street to meet a friend, and that they didn't have to wait up for her. She hadn't minded Kiara's company, and knew that she would be a good person to distract Holly with if Brooklyn reached her limit and snapped, but she also knew that at least now, there wouldn't be a cat fight between her and Brooklyn in CVS. That was a good thing, at least.

With Holly off with Brooklyn, Cara headed to down one of the aisles and picked out some basic things. She filled her basket with items like deodorant, a toothbrush and toothpaste, feminine care products, Advil, hand sanitizer, lotion and so on, before running into Holly and Brooklyn on the makeup aisle. She did need makeup products, and she knew it was bad, but she decided she would hold off until she could get to Sephora later that day or tomorrow. "Did you want to get a new toothbrush, Holl? They have the cool electric ones here," Cara suggested, pulling the toothbrush she had selected from her basket to show Holly. She glanced at Brooklyn with a smile that bordered a smirk, trying to figure out how close she was to leaving them to go do her own thing. Holly wasn't crying, so that seemed like a good sign.
