After like hours playing and hanging around the booths in the festival, Mikaze has almost lost his sense of time as he was too busy to have fun. Luckily, an announcement that the fireworks show which serves as the concluded event of the festival will take place after 30 minutes later. He almost squealed in excitement as he grabbed his best friend's hand again, "Let's go find somewhere to watch it, Hitoshi-kun. It's going to be amazing."
While both of them looking for a place high enough to observe the fireworks clearly, they went on with their almost endless chatter and nonsensical jokes. This really is the happiest moment of Mikaze's life. Being able to enjoy the festival along with his best friend, what more could he possibly ask for? I'm really going to miss this moment when we're back at the city... He thought while secretly wishes that it could have lasted forever.
Hitoshi put up the kitsune mask and jokingly asked whether if it makes him look like a fool or insanely cute. Mikaze couldn't help but chuckling again. "Well, it depends on whether if you think you're cute or not. Normally, you're intimidating enough so you don't have to worry."
After some while looking for a viewing spot around the festival, both of them managed to found a hill which was not very far from the festival. Apparently they're not the only ones, as there were also some couples around, but not enough to make a crowd, so there's not a possibility that they could be disturbed while sitting here. "Come here, Hitoshi-kun, this spot is perfect for a good view." Mikaze pointed and both of them sat down.
Gazing up at the starry sky, both of them stayed silent while waiting patiently for the first fireworks to be fired. As he finally has a quiet moment after all the chatters earlier, many thoughts are now swimming in his mind. But despite how cliché and shoujo manga-ish they're, Mikaze could be certain for one thing: he is happy. Now there's nothing could hold him back from confessing all of his thoughts.
"Hey, Hitoshi-kun." Mikaze said, his face is visibly red, "A lot of things have happened since we arrived here, haven't they? I'm pretty sure that despite how shoujo-ish our situation turned out to be, this trip certainly is something that I will remember for the rest of my life."
A gently smile appeared on his face, "I'm not trying to be all sentimental alike or something, but I just wanted to say that..." He blushes, "I was really happy, being able to spend these moments with you, Hitoshi-kun. But not just from this trip. Ever since we met, I was glad that you've always been there for me. I know how much your father would protested if we keep hanging out like this, but despite that, you've never left me all by myself before."
"There's a person who'd always been there in my heart, and he'd always been the one that I loved. But I've been such a fool for not realizing it. But now, I can say with certainty that that person..." Then, he smiled brightly. Right after that, the first firework was fired and exploded on the sky, blooming radiantly on the dark sky.
